Disease Progression and Survival in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS): A Real World European Cohort Study

Project Description: This study aims to generate new scientific insights in the causes, progression and treatment of ALS by analysing a large dataset creating by combining data from all Precision ALS partners sites.

Project Objective: ADAPT, TRICALS and the Industry Party are collaborating to enable new scientific insights into the causes, progression and treatment of ALS that the Parties could not realise through their individual efforts. The Parties recognise that the development of future treatments for complex neurological and other diseases requires a precision-medicine-based approach based on the integration and analysis of data at a very large scale, delivering a wealth of new insights into disease.

Project Status: Work is underway on this study as of Q2 2026 and is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The analysis is being undertaken by researchers at several Precision ALS sites on existing datasets shared by all Precision sites. The results of these analyses will be published in peer reviewed journals at the end of the study.
