Ronan McDonnell

Ronan McDonnell is Chief Technology Officer at Precision ALS, where he leads work across research infrastructure, data operations, platform development, and technical programme delivery. A central part of his role is leading the development of the Precision ALS patient data platform, helping define and coordinate the technical and operational foundations needed for secure, scalable, and effective use of research data across the programme.

Previously, his work spanned product, software, data, and technical leadership across start-ups, health technology, consulting, and research-led environments. This has included hands-on software development, data platform work, cross-functional product and delivery leadership, systems improvement, and work in regulated and security-conscious settings where technical decisions need to stay closely aligned with operational reality.

He works at the intersection of technology, data, and execution, helping translate complex programme needs into practical systems, clearer workflows, and coordinated delivery across partners, stakeholders, and evolving research priorities.
