The Karolinska Institutes ALS Clinical Research Group was created by Caroline Ingre in 2015, by starting the ALS/MND Quality Registry in Sweden, which collects prospective data on ALS/MND patients across the country, a large epidemiological project, which also collects prospective data together with a tissue- and image biobank. A few years later Caroline Ingre also started The Karolinska ALS trial unit with the goal to making ALS trials more accessible in Sweden. The ALS clinical research group receives referral for clinical trials from all over Sweden.
